Eastwick News: The online experience is increasingly oriented toward community interactions — and social networks and blogs are far more efficient means of group communication than email. Thus, it’s not surprising that a Nielsen survey identified a growing preference for networking over one-to-one correspondence. Eastwick Speaks at Software 2008
On Tuesday, April 29, Eastwick Vice President Melissa Neumann spoke at the Software 2008 conference, held in conjunction with Interop in Las Vegas. Melissa’s talk, PR 2008, Navigating the Changing Media Landscape, asserted that despite the explosion of new media channels, PR strategy today is still the same as it’s always been: reach the right people through the right channels, with the right message at the right time. The new media channels, however, do require new tools and an understanding of a more transparent, “conversational” approach to communicating with target audiences. Melissa covered best practices for corporate blogging, building online communities, and incorporating the use of video into the mix. Request a copy of the presentation.

Eastwick Black & Orange Bash a Success!
Eastwick would like to thank everyone for joining us and making last week’s Black and Orange Bash the best yet. The art, music, and food created a terrific setting, but it was the incredible group of more than 200 people and the prolific networking that made the night so memorable. From reconnecting with old friends to meeting interesting members of the Silicon Valley tech scene, the party was tremendous. The event also garnered some pretty nice press in The Wall Street Journal, eWeek, and Jeremiah Owyang’s blog.
We hope to see you next year!
