Bridgelux featured in CNET: “Bridgelux develops snap-in LED light”

Bridgelux News: LED lighting company Bridgelux says out with the Edison screw-in bulb and in with the snap-in lighting module.

The Livermore, Calif.-based start-up said Wednesday it has designed a lighting module called Helieon that combines Bridgelux’ LED lights and a snap-in interconnect system made by Molex, which is based in Lisle, Illinois.

Bridgelux worked with Molex to make a lighting fixture that can snap into a base, a system designed to make upgrading and installation easier.

The interconnect system will make it easy to install LEDs and upgrade them when more efficient or brighter lights come out, the companies said.

Bridgelux featured in TechPulse360: “Bridgelux Redesigns The LED Light Bulb, Cuts Price”

Bridgelux News: Bridgelux hopes to create what has so far eluded the LED lighting industry: an easily replaceable LED bulb.

The California start-up late Tuesday unveiled its Helieon Sustainable Light Module, a product it designed with Molex of Illinois. The package of LED chips and optical gear no longer needs to be screwed into a light fixture. This ease of installation should make it easy to change to new bulbs when brighter, more efficient LEDs come out, says CEO William Watkins.

The new product also cuts prices by 30 to 50 percent.

Zerista featured in PCMag.com blogs: Demo Starts With Focus on Mobile Applications

This year’s Demo conference has a new executive producer and a somewhat smaller group of new companies, but still looks to have some interesting new software.

Executive Producer Matt Marshall said technology progress pushes civilization forward, and asked “what greater calling than entrepreneurship?” He then introduced a number of mobile applications. As usual, I’m going to give you my impressions of the public demos first; later, I’ll look at many of these more closely and let you know which ones I find most promising.

The rise of email + social media

StrongMail News: Adding social media functionality to email can help your brand develop close relationships with your customers and their networks. Here’s how.

The blogosphere is abuzz with tired arguments over whether or not social media signals the death of email.
