JDSU Qualifies New 980nm Pump Laser Package for Telecom Networks

Milpitas, Calif., September 22, 2009 – JDSU (NASDAQ: JDSU and TSX: JDU) today announced that it has met the Telcordia qualification requirements for a new 980nm pump laser package, called the SP Platform. The new pump laser package is designed to help network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) lower costs and power consumption within optical networks. JDSU will also be able to reduce lead times for the new product by 50 percent compared to older designs, based on its simplified and lean manufacturing process.

Milpitas, Calif., September 21, 2009 – JDSU today introduced new features to its widely adopted T-BERD®/MTS-6000A platform, making it the first portable test instrument to provide 10 Gigabit Ethernet (10GigE) TCP Throughput testing for up to 64 simultaneous TCP sessions while also supporting the concurrent testing of up to four background traffic streams (patent pending).
